Nellie May Walters
Nellie May Walters, 91, of Coshocton passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Altercare of Coshocton. She was born in Newcomerstown, OH, on May 26, 1934, to the late Clement J. and Thelma J. (Little) Eckelberry.
Nellie was a graduate of Port Washington High School and worked as a cake decorator for Buehler’s for 20 years. She was very proud that she made and decorated the cakes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren graduations and weddings. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, Red Hatters Society, Silver Liners and enjoyed crocheting. Nellie is survived by her daughters Debra (Kerry) Fender of Coshocton and Diana Brickles of West Lafayette; grandchildren Kara (Josh) Beitzel, Stephanie (Marc) Murray, Shawn (Stephanie) Fender, Jayson (Darcy) Brickles, Jarrod (Christina) Brickles, Jesse (Natasha) Brickles, Nick (Kourtney) Denning, and Denny (Mary) Ferguson; great grandchildren Taylor (Ross) Burke, McKenna Beitzel, Ethan and Keeley Murray, Alyza and Cole Fender, Collin and Ellie Denning, Brayden, Bryson, and Brody Brickles, Teagan, Briah, and Jayde Brickles, and Kyler, Akeria, and Jagger Brickles; great great grandson Cayson Burke; daughter-in-law Donna Denning; step sons Denny (Patty) Walters, Michael (Robin) Walters and David (Vicki) Walters all of Coshocton; sister Rachel Nastoff; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Denning who passed away in 1987, and Raymond “Duke” Walters who passed in 2020; sons Clifford and Kevin Denning; son in law Jay Brickles; and sisters Esther, Marjorie, Martha, Ruth, Mary, and Betty.
Calling hours were held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, OH 43812, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Funeral services began at 4:00pm. Pastor Linda Danskin officiated. Graveside services for the burial of her cremated remains were held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 1:00pm at Union Cemetery, Port Washington, which would have been Nellie and Ronald’s 72nd wedding anniversary.
