Merle L. Hull
Merle L. Hull, 84, of Salineville, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Carroll Golden Age Retreat.
He was born May 17, 1941, in Salineville to Earl and Mary (McClain) Hull.
He worked at TRW/PCC Airfoils in Minerva for 42 years, beginning in July 1962, and retiring in June 2004. He had previously worked for Melhorn Dairy in Salineville. He was a member of Riley’s Methodist Church in Salineville.
He enjoyed cars and drag racing at Magnolia and Quaker City Speedway. He was an avid collector of tools, tractors, excavating equipment and guns, and enjoyed tractor pulls, operating bulldozers and making hay in the summer. He also enjoyed auctions and often came home with something he needed. He liked hunting, beagle dogs and never turned down a good meal or multiple desserts.
He is survived by a sister, Connie Orr of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Mark Cargill of Minerva; a sister-in-law, Judy Hull of Lisbon; seven nieces, Cindy (Mick) Berg of Malvern, Tammy (Roger) Bryer of Calcutta, Michelle (Donny) Featherstone of Calcutta, Lisa Cargill of Minerva, Deanna (Randy) Sommers of Lithopolis, Cara (Jeremy) Seidt of Columbus and Jodine Hull of Lisbon; and eight nephews, Jim (Ann) Hull of Minerva, Wes (Margaret) Hull of Lisbon, Brian Cargill of Carrollton, Kevin (Tammy) Hull of Leetonia, Frank (Debbie) Sneyd of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ross (Warren) Sneyd of Maine, Jason Hull of Calcutta and Brad (Gina) Eshler of Waynesville.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Martha Sneyd, Jean Hull, Joann Hull, Linda Cargill and Marvis Eshler; two brothers, Howard and Jim Hull; a niece, Mary Lou Gillespie; and three nephews, Randy Hull, Cliff Snyder and Jimmy Snyder.
Following cremation, there will be no formal services.
The family thanks the staff of the Carroll Golden Age Retreat and Ohio Hospice for their care.
