In loving memory of Mary Ellen (McFadden) McDonald who passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025...Mary Ellen was born January 25, 1930, in Marlinton, West Virginia to the late Arthur and Nancy (Roberts) McFadden. On October 29, 1948, Mary Ellen married Edward A. McDonald. She was a devoted wife, and mother to their 6 children. Her strength and faith served as an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an example to her family and strived daily to show resilience and stand firm in her relationship with God. Mary Ellen loved gardening, reading, and cooking, and spent many hours preparing home cooked meals for her family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, sons William "Bill" (Loney), Mike (Cheryle), and Doug; three grandchildren, Arik, Crystal, and Billie Jo; brothers Harlan, Ashford, Walter, Arnel, Robert, and French, and sisters Lily, and Bertha.

She is survived by her brother Keith Hammons; children Judy (Ron) Hess, Cheryl "Cheri" (Alan) Fry, and Jeff (Amy) McDonald; daughter-n-law, Pam McDonald; 9 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Millwood Church of Christ at 11:00 am on Friday, October 10. Dave Jones officiated. Burial followed in Riley Chapel Cemetery on SR 715 in Butler Township.

The family received visitors at the church on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00-7:00pm and one hour prior to service on Friday. The Fischer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A memorial page is located at fischerfuneralhome.com.
