Mervin D. Troyer, 61, of Fredericksburg, OH, died from injuries sustained in an accident on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
He was born on September 17, 1964, to David and Laura Kathryn (Miller) Troyer. On March 5, 1985, he married Katie Schlabach who survives.
Mervin was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was employed as a mechanic at Pioneer Trails and enjoyed fishing and duck hunting in his spare time. He was a loving father and grandfather who provided well and built a good life for his family.
In addition to his wife, Katie, and his mother, Laura Kathryn, he is survived by his children, Naomi (Kevin) Miller of the home, Larry (Linda) Troyer of Holmesville, Marilyn (Jordan) Larntz of Baltic, Monroe (Regina) Troyer of Millersburg, Ina (Marlin) Troyer of Millersburg and Leah Troyer of the home; 12 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edna (Daniel) Miller of Millersburg, Alta (Eli) Miller of Mt. Hope, Betty (Nelson) Kline of Mt. Hope, Elmina Troyer of Mt. Eaton, David (Emily) Troyer of Etna Green, IN, Sarah Troyer of Mt. Hope, Miriam (Jerry) Yoder of Maysville, Marlene (John) Yoder of Apple Creek, Wilma (Duane) Miller of Mt. Hope, Daniel (Frances) Troyer of Mt. Hope and Moses (Esther) Troyer of Mt. Hope; and mother-in-law, Esther (late John) Schlabach of Becks Mills.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Laura; father, David; and father-in-law, John Schlabach.
Funeral services were held at the Andy Nisley residence, 2100 Dunham Lane, Fredericksburg, on Saturday, November 8, at 9:00 a.m.. Bishop Leon Miller officiated. Burial followed in the East Moreland Cemetery. Friends were able to call at the home, 9614 James Road, Fredericksburg, after 2 p.m. on Thursday and any time on Friday.
