They’re Coming to Take Me Away
Shelley Coffelt
Shelley Miner Coffelt, of Cadiz, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord in the early hours of May 27th, 2024. She passed away in the Select Specialty Hospital of Weirton, West Virginia after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones, of which there were many. Shelley was born to her wonderful parents, Bruce Miner and Mary Sue Butler (Kaplan) on August 30th, 1965. Edward Butler married her mother and raised her as his own daughter for the last 43 years of her life. She was a sister to Daniel Miner and Jamie Butler, and a wonderful aunt to Maddy Butler, Jay Butler, Bekka Mayle, and Nate Mayle. She adored her community and took pride in serving it. She was known for her work with several organizations, most notably: The Pregnancy Support Center, The Wellspring Pregnancy Center, The Cadiz Business Association, The Clark Gable Foundation, The Harrison County Republican Party, and The Scott Methodist Church. She was also known for her unwavering faith in the Lord. In every role she took, she was a supporter, a light, and a rock. However, in all of her accomplishments, she was most proud of her role as mother to her two loving daughters, Carmen and Devon Coffelt. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Miner. She is survived by her husband, James Coffelt, her children, her parents, and her siblings. A special thanks from the family must be said for the care she received at West Penn and Weirton Medical Facility, as well as a thank you to her many wonderful, lifelong friends who brought her peace and laughter. Funeral arrangements will be through Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home. The family asks that any donations in Shelley’s name be made to The Pregnancy Support Center at (330) 455-7500 pregnancyandparentingcenter.com. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 7th, from 1-3 and 4-6 at Scott Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Paul Giffin officiating. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family. The memorial guestbook may be signed at clark-kirkland-barr.com.
