Phyllis Brooks
Phyllis Brooks age 93, passed away on May 11, 2024, in N.Las Vegas Nevada.
Phyllis was born on September 25,1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Theodore, Hazel Brassfield. She was the second born of three children. Phyllis attended Scott high school in Toledo, Ohio. Phyllis married Gene Brooks Sr. On July 8, 1952, in Cadiz, Ohio. Four children were born from this union Sheila, Gene, Shelly and Gerald.
Phyllis was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and avid shopper (she was always able to spot a deal). Later in life she started a career at TRW in Minerva, Ohio. Years later she decided to become a full-time caregiver to her mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her. Always being remembered by her famous catch phrase “Love ya, Loveya, Love ya!”
Phyllis leaves to cherish her loving memory her sister Arlene Moss, children Sheila (Thomas Alexander Sr.), Shelly (Todd Reed Sr.), Gene (Darlene Brooks), grandchildren Tj (Danie Alexander), JT(Deanna Reed), Catrina Reed, Marcus Brooks, Dustin Brooks, great grandchildren Kieley, Shaniah, Shaylah, Elijah, Sabreah, Jordan and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Brooks Sr., son Gerald Brooks, brother Theodore Brassfield, sister-in-law Lucille Brassfield, brothers-in-law Charles H. Brooks, Jr., Hartzell (Buddy) Brooks and great granddaughter Stacy Brooks.
A memorial service were held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 1-3 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Patricia Angel officiating.
