Irene G. Christy, 94, of Magnolia, formerly of Hopedale, Ohio, passed away on June 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 20, 1929, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Mathews Raber.

She worked for Scio Pottery for many years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed yard work, keeping her lawn in meticulous shape and planting beautiful flowers. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, John O. Christy in 2009, brothers, Sam Raber, Harold Raber; and sisters, Beatrice Kerwood and Vivian McCoy. She is survived by her nephew whom she lived with and took care of her, James Van Horne, two nephews who she raised, Clark (Rebecca) Christy, and Lewis (Deborah) Christy, and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 11-12 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz, Ohio. The funeral service followed at 12:00 p.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Hopedale, Ohio.
