Donald Butler
Donald Butler, 56, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly in his home April 29, 2024.
The son of Susan (Raymond) Lescalet Hubbard of Smithfield and the late Thomas Lee Butler, he was born December 20, 1967, in Steubenville, Ohio.
Donald pursued his education at Nashville Auto and Diesel College, thereafter, embarking on a diverse career path before finding his niche as a machinist at ColforManufacturing in Minerva, where he worked for 28 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ and the UAW Local 4199.
Donald is survived by his wife, the former Daphne Strickling; son, Ben Butler, three step-daughters, Laura, Crystal, Rebecca; thirteen step-grandchildren; two step great-grandsons; two sisters, Lisa Brashear and Leigh Ann (David) Little; three nephews; his first wife, Lori Butler; and his two best friends, Bryan (Teresa) Mickey and “Orvie” Cunningham.
Along with his father he was preceded in death by a step-great granddaughter.
A graveside service for Donald was held at noon Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Smithfield Cemetery in Smithfield, Ohio. Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam assisted the family with arrangements.
