Carol Jean Bear McKay Johnson
Carol Jean Bear McKay Johnson, age 83, of Tippecanoe, Ohio passed away February 12, 2024 in Moore Haven, Florida.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Westchester Senior Center beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dave Bryan officiating. A social time will follow until 3:00 p.m.
Carol was born May 1, 1940, in Dennison to James and Francis Hines Bear. She graduated from Dennison High School in 1958 and attended Ohio Miami University to earn a Degree in Education.
She worked two years for the Miami Hearld, and then taught school at Vincent Elementary School in Lorain for twenty-eight years. She was very adventurous and traveled to Alaska two times by herself. She enjoyed traveling and bowling.
Carol and her husband, Bill, who survives operated the Westchester General Store and Bed and Breakfast for thirty years. They made numerous trips out west and to Florida.
Also surviving are a son, Christopher and two brothers, James Greg Bear and Howard Doug Bear.
