Barbara Whiteman

Barbara “Barb” Whiteman, 90, of Scio, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born January 5, 1935, to James and Erma Robinson.

On September 1, 1951, Barb married Fred “Bud” Whiteman, and together they shared 74 years of marriage. Barb was the heart of her family, known for her unwavering faith, patience, and deep devotion to God and those she loved. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and watching them grow.

Preceded in death by her infant baby Mary Patricia, her parents, brother James Robinson, and sister Sandra Robinson, her son-in -law Brad Jacobs, as well many other family members and friends.

Leaves behind her husband, Fred; sister, Betty Hugh; daughters Terri Whiteman (fiancé Mike Spiker) and Melissa (Mark) Danze; grandchildren Beth (Collin) Albaugh, Jessica (Ryan) Hooker, and Derrick Danze; and great-grandchildren Brianna (Bradley) Whitehead, Mason Danze, Hannah Albaugh, Harper Danze, Rylee Albaugh, and Gavyn Hooker, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A member of Mount Hope Methodist Church, Barb’s life was a testimony of faith and love.

The family thanks Traditions Hospice, especially Danielle and April, and Nick and staff from Geib Funeral Home for their compassionate care.

Per her wishes, Barb will be cremated, and no services will be held.“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.” – Luke 1:45Forever in our hearts—We love you, Nanny.
