Tim Miller

Timothy “Tim” Miller, 87, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Wooster from complications related to multiple myeloma.

He was born in Berlin, Ohio, on July 4, 1938, to Clyde and Ruby (Kaser) Miller. Tim met his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Sweet) Miller, at Hiram College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts. He also received his Masters in Administration from Akron and was a history/government teacher for over 30 years at Hiland High School and Buckeye JVS. In addition, he was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Berlin, taught Sunday school for many years, and knew that Jesus was his Savior.

He was known for his love of baseball and football especially Cleveland or Ohio State, chocolate, vegetable gardening, Wheel of Fortune, and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was the best storyteller you would ever meet and spending time with any of his family was his favorite thing in the world.

Preceded in death by his wife Joyce (earlier this year) and his sister Carol Miller; Tim is survived by daughters Jackie (Mark) Shrock of Dalton and Gail (Brian) Shaffer of Dayton, son Craig Miller of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother Stanley Miller of Berlin; grandchildren Ashton (Aaron) Shetler, Phillip (Jessica) Shrock, Emily Miller, Sara (Henry) Newberg, Olivia Miller, Abigail Shaffer, Rachel (Brandon) Hulbert, Hannah (David) Jacques, Luke Shaffer; great-grandchildren Leah, Benjamin, Jaxson, Anna and Maggie.

Friends and family are invited to the First Baptist Church of Berlin on Saturday, November 22nd at 11 a.m. for a Celebration of Life service.
