Ralph Leroy Hutzel
Ralph Leroy Hutzel, age 85 of Newcomerstown, died Monday, March 25, 2019, in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia, following a recent illness.
A son of the late Henry and Nellie Mae (Glass) Hutzel, Ralph was born April 22, 1933, in Zanesville.
Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War.
Ralph is survived by his children, Sandy (Clyde) Wright of Newcomerstown, Diane Sauerbrey of Shady Bend, Ohio and Bonnie (Joe) Calhoun of Newcomerstown; his grandchildren, Richard (Danielle) Wright, Faylene (Mike) McMasters, Thomas A. (Kate) Sauerbrey, Michael R. Sauerbrey, Ralph Henry (Amanda) Hutzel, Jr., Dolly (Ryan) Kinsey, Kelly (Chris) Adamik, Jessica Brown, Gwendolynn Finton, Selena (James) Foster, Howard (Laytoya) Boor and Mandy (Jesse Thompson) Simmons; 31 great-grandchildren; his companion of 16 years, Wanda Marie Gray; a sister, Gertrude Howell; a brother, Wilbur Hutzel; a special nephew, Dale (Millie) Hutzel; and many other nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iretha Gertrude “Weedy” (Rosenberger) Hutzel; two children, Donna Marie Hutzel and Ralph Henry Hutzel; a grandson, Joseph Hutzel; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel and Agatha.
In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services, and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
