Melissa was born November 12, 1965, in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of William and Mildred (Minor) Hinds. On May 5, 1984, she married Alan Schonauer, and he survives. She was a member of the Nashville Church of Christ and was always supporting Clark community events. Melissa enjoyed shopping, antiques, Hallmark movies and “running to town”; oftentimes with a grandbaby or two in tow. Her love language was a hot cup of coffee shared on the front porch, and she always gave everyone a nickname or called them “hun”. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 41 years Alan, are children Tabatha (Kevin) Lint, Megan (Travis) Raber, Trae (Ariel) Schonauer; grandchildren Natty and Haden Lint, Tate and Teagan Raber, Reddington Schonauer and one more on the way; siblings William “Chuck” Hinds, Robert “Bob” (Kelly) Hinds, Rebecca “Becky” (Barry) Flinner; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew Bobby “Lil Bob” (Erin) Hinds; several great nieces and nephews and many more that considered her like a mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephews Billy Joe Hinds and B.J. Flinner.
