Jonas E. Hochstetler
Jonas E. Hochstetler, 85, of Fredericksburg, OH, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
He was born on June 24, 1940, to the late Eli E. and Ida (Yoder) Hochstetler. On November 9, 1961, he married Sara Mast who survives. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife Sara he is survived by his children, Wayne (Barbara) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, Irene (Jacob) Miller of Walnut Creek, Mervin (Betty) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, Verna (Ervin) Troyer of Holmesville, Mable (Henry) Hershberger of Kidron and Lamar (Barbara Ann) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg; 29 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Effie (late Levi) Troyer of Bunker Hill, Elizabeth (late Ray) Coblentz of Kidron, Anna (Aaron) Weaver of Fredericksburg, Lydiann (Levi) Mast of Mt. Hope and Esther (Abe) Yoder of Mt. Hope; and sisters-in-law, Susie (late Raymond) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, and Mary (late Leroy) Hochstetler-Fry of Fredericksburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steven Miller, and brothers, Raymond and Leroy.
Funeral services were held at the Lamar Hochstetler residence, 6513 Harrison Road, Fredericksburg, on Wednesday, November 19, at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Abe E. Yoder officiated. Burial followed in the Troyer Cemetery. Friends were able to call at the Lamar Hochstetler residence after 2 p.m. on Monday and any time on Tuesday.
