David Alpeter
David Alpeter, 74, of Dover passed away in his residence on January 3, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born in Dover on October 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Milan K. "Toots" and Martha (Meese) Alpeter, He was a 1970 graduate of Garaway High School and married the former Joyce Krebs on October 14, 1977.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
David was a truck driver working for various companies through the years, retiring from Andrews Logistics.
In retirement, he worked part-time for Paint Valley Farms. He was a 51-year member of Homer Weiss American Legion Post #494 and was active on the post Honors Team.
He greatly enjoyed time with his family and reading books.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce, of the home; sons Steve (Jessica) Alpeter of Pickerington, and Ryan (Libby) Alpeter of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; granddaughters Josselyn and Haley; and sister Lois (Ralph) Sundheimer of Sugarcreek.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Zion United Church of Christ in Ragersville on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor LuAnn Youngman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow immediately at Ragersville Cemetery.
