They’re Coming to Take Me Away
David “Dave” Dawson
David “Dave” Dawson, 81, of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Dave was born in Coshocton, Ohio, to the late Robert Truman and Doris Evelyn (Underwood) Dawson on October 15, 1943. Dave graduated from Coshocton High School in 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Patti; his daughter, Denise (Robbie) Graham of Orient, Ohio; his stepmother, Marilyn Dawson of Coshocton, Ohio; grandson, David Graham, his favorite niece, Sherri Matis; stepchildren Jeremy Johnson and Laura Deas; and several dear cousins with whom he grew up.
Along with his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Dawson; grandson, Drey Meine; stepson, Micah Johnson; and aunts, Louel (Bill) Williams and Louise (John “Bud”) Dawson.
Dave loved and treasured his many friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger! He will be remembered by many for his ornery sense of humor, his kind heart, and his love of animals, especially cats.
The day before he passed, Dave told his daughter that he loved life and that he loved his Savior Jesus Christ.
The family is honoring Dave’s wishes by hosting a small graveside service at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, where he will be laid to rest alongside his brother, parents, and grandparents.
