Carole J.
(Gilgannon) Hoffman, 85, of West Lafayette, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August
19, 2025, at Roscoe Gardens in Coshocton, Ohio. She was born in her home in
Coshocton to the late Edward and Lena McCullough Gilgannon on March 4, 1940.
She was
married on May 20, 1967 to John J. Hoffman in the chapel of the Presbyterian
Church by Reverand H. Kaser. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2020.
Carole was
a graduate of Calvert High School in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1958. She received an
associate’s degree in Accounting from Central Ohio Technical School, and a
bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College. She
taught fifth grade at St. Mary’s school in Tiffin, worked in the office of Shaw
Barton, and retired in 1999 after 33 years of service from Ansell Edmont where
she worked in various areas within the finance department. She was a member of
AARP and a Partner in Hope with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She is
survived by her daughters, Angela (Doug) Moran of Frazeysburg, and Patricia
Campbell of Zanesville; daughter-in-law Tish Hoffman; grandsons Derek (Kerstan)
Hoffman, Nathan (Ashley) Hoffman, and Dakota Moran; granddaughter Ashton Moran;
great granddaughter Alora Hoffman; brothers-in-law Jim (Martha) Hoffman of West
Lafayette, and Ralph Hoffman of Newcomerstown; nephews John Kenny of
Midlothian, VA, Jim (Julie) Kenny of New Washington, OH, Michael (Michelle)
Kenny of Westerville, OH, Dan (Katherine) Kenny of Columbus, OH, and Matthew
(Laura) Eggleston of North Carolina; nieces Mary Anne Kapel of Norwalk, OH,
Colleen (Tom) Sondles of Canal Winchester, OH, Nadine Eggleston of Columbus,
OH, and Deborah Eggleston of North Carolina; as well as numerous great nieces,
great nephews, and cousins.
Along with
her husband and parents, Carole is preceded in death by her son Anthony
Hoffman; paternal grandparents William and Mary Gilgannon; maternal
grandparents James and Clara McCullough; step grandmother Ethel (Hall)
McCullough; sisters Donna (Robert) Eggleston, and Patricia (Dan) Kenny; nephew
Malcolm Eggleston.
Graveside
services for Carole will be held at Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette, on
Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2:00pm with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. The Miller
