Marylou Zutavern Flickinger DeVore
Marylou Zutavern Flickinger, age 84 and a lifelong resident of Bolivar, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Dover, Marylou was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Reiker) Zutavern. She graduated from Bolivar High School, where she was an accomplished athlete in basketball and track. She married the late Wayne Paul Flickinger, who preceded her in death. She later married James DeVore, who also preceded her in death.
Marylou and Wayne were co-owners of the Bolivar Hardware Store. She also worked for many years at Gradall Industries, drove the bus for Tusky Valley School District and was an x-ray technician at Mercy Medical Center.
Marylou enjoyed landscaping and gardening at her home. She loved antiques and going to garage sales. She also loved spending time in the kitchen and was a very talented baker.
Marylou leaves behind her sons, Dwayne Flickinger of Bolivar and Todd Flickinger of Kent; her grandson, Dylan (Monica) Flickinger of Oxford, Pennsylvania; and her sister, Judy Neff of Sugarcreek.
