Rim Rock Riders 4-H continues Easter outreach
Club assembles baskets and supplies for local shelter in fourth annual project
For the fourth consecutive year, the Rim Rock Riders 4-H Club organized a community service project on Good Friday, assembling Easter baskets for local senior centers and facilities in the Holmes County area.
The group began the project in past years by serving residents at Green Ridge, later expanding to Fairview and Sunshine Villa. This year members selected OneEighty of Holmes and Wayne County as the recipient organization.
Club members created five baskets with items for women at the shelter and five baskets for children. They also stuffed about 50 eggs with candy so children at the shelter could participate in an Easter egg hunt and donated additional items.
Members worked together to shop for and assemble the baskets, making the project a hands-on effort for the entire group.
Although they were unable to personally deliver the items this year, members said the project continues to be a meaningful way to give back to the community and left them feeling good about helping others.
