Joan Miller, 85, of Walnut Creek and formerly of Sugarcreek, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Truman House in New Philadelphia.

She was born in Holmes County on May 9, 1940, to the late Titus and Melvena M. "Mellie" (Kamp) Gerber.

Joan worked for Reeves Bank in Sugarcreek for many years and retired from Huntington Bank in Sugarcreek.

She is survived by her son Doug (Michele) Miller of Berlin; her grandchildren Patrick and Anthony Miller; brother Duane "Dewey" (Cheryl) Gerber of Sugarcreek; and close friend Marcus Hamsher of Walnut Creek.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Marilyn Nussbaum.

In honoring Joan's wishes, no public services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
