Raymond O. Schlabach, 80, of Sugarcreek, Ohio passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, after a brief illness.

He was born on October 11, 1945, to the late Owen and Mary (Troyer) Schlabach. On November 1, 1969, he married Sarah D. Yoder who preceded him in death on December 16, 2020.

Raymond attended Grace Church in Sugarcreek. He was employed by JS Miller Trucking for many years and more recently enjoyed providing taxi service for the community.

He worked as a trucker for most of his life, beginning with hauling livestock, then coal for Schlabach Coal and Miller Mining. He also hauled furniture long-distance for several years.

He enjoyed going on camping trips with Sarah and their friends and with his family. He was quite attached to Kenny’s dog “Bubba” and enjoyed having his company.

He is survived by his two sons, Marlin (Susie) Schlabach of Sugarcreek and Kenny (Gloria) Schlabach of the home; one granddaughter, Morgan Schlabach; three stepgrandchildren, Sheila Troyer, Lexy Troyer and Tyler Troyer; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Joseph Hostetler, Willow Hostetler and Emerson Troyer; siblings, Esther (Donnie) Warren of Fresno, Freda Troyer of Phoenix, Arizona, Francis (Randy) Keim of Bunker Hill, Nancy (Dean) Miller of Sugarcreek; and sister-in-law, Amanda (late Lester) Schlabach of Sugarcreek.

In addition to his parents and his wife Sarah, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Schlabach and brother, Lester Schlabach.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Church in Berlin, 5850 CR 77, Millersburg, on Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call at Grace Church in Berlin from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
