Leadership Holmes County Class of 2026 raises $6,325 for Legacy Point Park, Sacred Ground
Class of 2026 funded picnic tables and a new trail at Legacy Point Park and donated to Sacred Ground for special-needs transportation
The Leadership Holmes County Class of 2026 has completed its class community service project, raising $6,325 to support improvements at Legacy Point Park and provide assistance to Sacred Ground.
The class selected Legacy Point Park as the focus of its annual community project with the goal of creating a welcoming space where families, visitors and community members can gather and enjoy the outdoors. Through a combination of cinnamon roll sales and a picnic table naming rights campaign, the class raised enough funds to purchase and install new picnic tables throughout the park.
In addition to funding the picnic tables, the class was able to make a monetary donation to Sacred Ground, helping support transportation needs for individuals and families with special needs. The donation will assist Sacred Ground in continuing to provide vital services and opportunities for those they serve throughout the community.
"This project was about more than raising money," members of the Leadership Holmes County Class of 2026 said. "It was an opportunity to come together, build relationships and make a lasting impact on organizations that serve Holmes County residents every day."
The project also included a hands-on volunteer component. On May 19 class members gathered at Legacy Point Park to help cut in a new trail, expanding access to the park and creating additional opportunities for visitors to explore the natural surroundings.
The Leadership Holmes County program brings together local professionals and community leaders to develop leadership skills, increase awareness of community resources and inspire civic engagement. Each class completes a community service project designed to create a lasting benefit for Holmes County.
The Class of 2026 extends its gratitude to the businesses, organizations and community members who supported the fundraiser, purchased naming rights, volunteered time and helped make the project a success.
Together, their generosity will leave a lasting impact for years to come.
