Susan Richards was crowned Music Queen of 1966 by her brother, John, at Carrollton High School, where she was a senior.
The seven Bell-Herron Scholarship winners included Jeanne McCartney, Phillip Blazer, Ava Dell Moser, Robert E. Magee, Edna Mae Shotwell, Glenn Maurer and Shirley Herrington.
The McCausland Dairy farm on state Route 43, east of Carrollton, which had been in the McCausland family since 1807, was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Grover.
Conotton Valley High’s Rockets gained their first win of the current baseball season by defeating Midvale 15-1.

The 11 recipients of Bell-Herron scholarships included Tammy Ayers, Amy Brumbaugh, Becky Peterson, Larry Patterson, Rick Burns, Ray Bucher, Bob Bowman, Marcy Seich, Tammie Henry, Larry Cogan and Loretta Cernava.
Approval of a teachers’ negotiations agreement by the Carrollton Board of Education resulted in a top salary bracket of $12,032 for teachers with 12 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree.
Ray Cole, a sixth-grader at Carrollton School, placed fourth in the regional spelling contest at Canton GlenOak High School.
Plans were being made for the first veterans swimming meet at the Carroll County Community Swimming Pool.

Ground was broken in Carrollton for a proposed $4 million shopping mall to be occupied by an Ames store, where the current Dollar General Market is located on state Route 43 north.
A five-member mock trial team from Carrollton High School took part in the preliminary round of the Ohio Mock Trial program at Cambridge. Team members included Amy Clark, Mike Hamilton, Amy Patterson, Jennifer Bolanz and Chris Jones. Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney John T.O. Smiley served as their legal adviser.
A young pitching staff led the Carrollton Warriors to three wins at the beginning of the 1986 baseball season.

Carroll County Sheriff Dale R. Williams received the President’s Award at the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce banquet at the Atwood Yacht Club.
Carrollton freshmen Allison Davis and Micah Donley were pictured while leading the Warrior runners in the 4x400 relay and 200-meter dash at the Lidderdale Invitational track meet.
