April Students of the Month chosen at CHS
Aiden Green, son of Katilyn Green and Jordan Green and Haley Thomas, daughter of Shane and Melanie Thomas were named Students of the Month
Students of the Month for April at Carrollton High School are Aiden Green, son of Katilyn Green and Jordan Green of Carrollton, and Haley Thomas, daughter of Shane and Melanie Thomas of Carrollton.
The following are responses to questions submitted by The Free Press Standard to each student.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in both in and out of school?
Green: I work at Jimmy’s Pizzeria and go to the gym regularly.
Thomas: Volleyball, Student Council, National Honor Society, Youth to Youth, CHS Club and yearbook.
Do you have any special hobbies?
Green: I enjoy creating art, studying philosophy and writing in my free time.
Thomas: I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, going to church and thrifting.
Where do you plan to attend college?
Green: The University of Iowa.
Thomas: Stark State College.
What are your career plans?
Green: I hope to become a sports journalist.
Thomas: I plan to become a real estate agent.
What teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced you and why?
Green: Mrs. Nuzzolillo, my friends and my parents have all helped me become a better person and build confidence in myself and my abilities.
Thomas: My mom has had the most influence on me. She shows me how to be kind, caring and faithful every day.
What advice can you give for success in life?
Green: You should focus on being better than you were yesterday, not better than other people.
Thomas: My best advice for success in life is to work hard, follow your heart and trust in God.
As Students of the Month, both are eligible for a $500 scholarship provided by McFadden Insurance Co. to one boy and one girl at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year. The two seniors selected by the staff will have their pictures displayed in the commons at CHS.
