Ohio’s Hospice representatives speak at Carrollton Rotary Club
The organization’s mission is to celebrate the lives of those it serves by providing care and services to patients and their families
Mona Sayre, regional development manager for Ohio’s Hospice, and Suzanne Bates, community outreach liaison, were guest speakers at the March 14 meeting of the Carrollton Rotary Club at The Villa Restaurant.
Ohio’s Hospice is a partnership of mission-driven, nonprofit hospices across the state focused on strengthening and preserving community-based hospice care. The organization’s mission is to celebrate the lives of those it serves by providing care and services to patients and their families. Its core values include servant leadership, kindness, honesty and compassion.
Services are available as needed and include access to a 24-hour nurse support line and extended-hours care teams. Grief support services are offered at no cost to patients, their families and members of the community. Levels of care include routine home care, crisis care, general inpatient care and respite care. The organization also operates mobile care units used to transport hospice patients.
Ohio’s Hospice Foundation serves as the organization’s philanthropic arm, supporting programs and services for patients and their loved ones, as well as capital needs and long-term financial stability.
Fundraising events are listed at ohioshospice.org. Additional support is generated through Browse & Buy Resale Shops at 789 N. Lisbon St. in Carrollton and 515 Union Ave. in Dover, which accept donations of approved items. A boutique, Friendtique, is located at 223 W. Liberty St. in Wooster.
Other ways to support Ohio’s Hospice include bequests, gifts of stock, life insurance policies and IRA contributions. The organization also partners with FreeWill, an online resource that allows individuals to create or update a will or trust at no cost.
