Carroll Farm Bureau to host coffee talk on deer damage

The discussion will focus on deer predation in corn and soybeans

Managing deer predation in our corn and soybean fields is vital to protecting the livelihoods of local family farms.

The Carroll County Farm Bureau will hold a Coffee Talk April 16 at 5 p.m. at Carroll County Coffee Co., 704 Canton Road NW, Unit C, Carrollton.

The discussion will focus on deer predation in corn and soybeans.

Scott Cartwright, state wildlife officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, will lead the discussion and answer questions.

“Managing deer predation in our corn and soybean fields is vital to protecting the livelihoods of our local family farms,” said Kayla Scott, organization director for the Carroll County Farm Bureau. “By providing farmers with effective management strategies, we’re not just protecting crops — we’re helping to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the families who are the backbone of Carroll County agriculture.”

Coffee and light refreshments will be available. Children are welcome.
