Dorothy Irene Krocker, age 84 of New Philadelphia, died Friday, May 11, 2018, in Park Village Southside following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Floyd Luther and Myrtle Mae (Mercer) Egler, Dorothy was born July 28, 1933, in Dover.

Dorothy graduated from Dover High School in 1952. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and enjoyed watching NASCAR and traveling to the beach.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Chek, Dianne (Dale) Fishel and John J. Krocker, all of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Michael (Anne) Chek of New Philadelphia, Michele (Chris) Prosser of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Jennifer Fishel of New Philadelphia and Eric Fishel of New Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Liberty Prosser and Aaron and Zane Chek; two brothers, Hubert (Shirley) Egler and Ken (Ann) Egler, both of Dover; her sisters-in-law, Jacki (Ralph) Labus and Cecilia Krocker, both of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Krocker; and a special friend, James Gintz.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14 from 10-11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Dorothy’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Jeff Coning officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
