Mary L. Downs, 73, of Orrville, formerly of Doylestown, died July 11, 2010, at Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, following a long illness.Mary was born April 23, 1937, in Clarksburg, W.Va., to the late Andy and Maggie Bender. She worked her family farm in Orrville for many years and then worked in various positions for Crown Steel, Orrville, for 17 years.Mary enjoyed flowers, gardening, and keeping a nice clean home.Surviving are her husband, Raymond Downs, whom she married in 1982; sons, George Hershey of Orrville and Russell Hershey of Madisonburg; daughters, Linda Randels of North Canton and Patsy Hershey of Mississippi; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Anna Mae Walton of Orrville.She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Bender.Graveside services will be held July 15, 2010, at 2 p.m., in Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville, with Rev. Ray L. Pfahler officiating. There will be no calling hours.Auble Funeral Home, Orrville, is handling the services.
