McCook House to open for Christmas tours starting Thanksgiving weekend
Historic Carrollton home will feature traditional holiday décor, themed trees and guided tours over two weekends
The McCook House in Carrollton will welcome visitors for its annual Christmas season opening, with tours scheduled 1-8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays of Thanksgiving weekend and the following weekend.
The historic home will be decorated in traditional holiday style, thanks to the Carrollton Garden Club, whose members “hang the greens” throughout the mansion each year. The Suburban Garden Club also contributes to the effort by maintaining the flowers and landscaping outside the building during the rest of the year.
Visitors can tour the home’s first and second floors, where five fireplace mantels and Christmas trees decorated by local clubs and businesses will be on display.
Organizers are seeking additional groups to decorate trees for this year’s celebration. Those interested in participating can call 330-437-9715 for more information.
