Golden Age Retreat to host annual open house

The Carroll Golden Age Retreat will hold its 17th annual open house and cruise-in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at 2202 Kensington Road NE.
The event will feature a cruise-in, chili cook-off, live entertainment, bake sale and a variety of food, including popcorn, sno cones, nachos, free lunch and homemade ice cream. Other activities will include a photo booth, face painting, door prizes, a Chinese auction and a barn sale.
This year's theme is “Bee Happy.” The event is free and open to the public.
