Scio Summer Fest opens Aug. 21 for a four-day run

The 2025 Scio Summer Fest will be held Aug. 21–24 with a grand parade set for Saturday, Aug. 23.

The four-day event will include several activities starting with Thursday's midway opening ($20 wristband rides) and opening ceremonies set for 5:30 p.m. on the main stage.

Other events that day include a performance by the Harrison Central High School/Junior High/Biddy cheerleaders, a cornhole tournament, the 52nd annual Scio Scramble One-Mile Fun Run and Family Walk, the 40th annual Scio Scramble 5K run/walk, and country and variety music by the Tumbleweed Band at 7 p.m.

Friday’s events include a story time and craft at the Scio Branch Library at 5 p.m., Buckeye Axe Throwing at the old school lot from 6-9 p.m., and ’80s and ’90s country music by Chillbillyz at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the Saturday parade, other events include local talent by Shay Bonnell, a cornhole tournament beginning at noon, rides with $20 wristbands from 1 to 11 p.m., the ninth annual pet show, classic rock music by Rumley Renegades at 2 p.m., music from the ’90s and 2000s by Seven South at 8 p.m., and parade awards at 9 p.m.

Sunday's events include a church service conducted by Pastors Mike Cunningham and Dixie Hendricks at 9:30 and 11 a.m., the 40th annual Scio Show and Shine car show beginning at noon, acoustic music by Dusty Carpenter at noon, the Great Conotton Creek duck race at the Scio Firehouse at 2 p.m., and dance music by Twice as Nice at 2 p.m. Crowning of the Scio Summer Fest Jr. Prince, Jr. Princess, Prince and Princess, and Queen is set for 5 p.m., concluding with a merchants drawing and Big Top Magic Midway bicycle giveaway at 5:15 p.m.

Other attractions include bingo every night at 7 p.m. inside the firehouse.
