Albert “Doyle” LeMar died peacefully May 1, 2010, with his children at his bedside. He was a resident of West View Manor, Wooster.Doyle was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Lodi, to Hazel and Sidney LeMar, and lived his entire life in the Lodi area. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1939, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the European theater. He owned LeMar Excavating and had done business with many people in the surrounding areas. He was a member of Lodi American Legion Post 523 for 64 years, and hunting, fishing, and playing golf were his enjoyments, especially his golf trips with his brother, Raymond, to Arizona. In his later years, he could be found every afternoon, accompanied by his pug, George, playing euchre with his friends at the legion hall.Surviving are his best and most loyal friend, Pat Siders; daughter, Kathleen (Tim Tefs) of Westfield Township; son, Dennis (Barb McKee) of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Clay and Cora LeMar, and Matthew, Nathan, and Kate Anavy; great-grandchildren, Lance and Evan Anavy; brother, Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.Services will be held May 6, 2010, at 4 p.m., at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery. Visitation will be May 5, from 5-8 p.m.Contributions may be made to Lodi American Legion Post 523, Charitable Fund, 120 Bank St., Lodi 44254.The family wishes to thank the staff at West View Manor and Hospice of Wayne County for the wonderful care their father received.
