Marvin J. Coblentz
Marvin J. Coblentz, age 66 of 3379 CR 135, Millersburg, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at his residence.
Marvin was born in Holmes County on Jan. 20, 1952, to Amanda (Schlabach) Coblentz of Baltic and the late Joe, Jr. Coblentz and married Marie A. Miller on Feb. 1, 1973. She survives.
Marvin is a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was ordained as minister on May 4, 1990, and bishop on Oct. 5, 1991.
In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by his seven children, Kathy (Ivan) Yoder of Millersburg, Betty (Marvin E.) Miller of the home, Joseph (Lorene) Coblentz of Millersburg, Milan (Marilyn) Coblentz of Apple Creek, Matthew (Marie) Coblentz of New Philadelphia, and Marianna (Timothy) Yoder and Deborah (Wayne) Troyer, both of Sugarcreek; 29 grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Aden) Raber of Millersburg and Alice (Jonas) Erb and Rhoda (Henry) Miller, both of Baltic; and a brother, Roman (Clara) Coblentz of Baltic.
In addition to his father, Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Marty, and two grandchildren, Sarah and Caleb.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Coblentz residence with Minister Myron Miller officiating. Burial will be in Raber Cemetery in Walnut Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are with Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
