James Lee “Jim” Demlow, age 77 of Spring Hill, Florida and formerly of Orrville, died Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, following a short illness.

Jim was born June 29, 1941, in Orrville to James F. and Lillian A. (Drew) Demlow. He graduated from Orrville High School in 1959, where he was senior class president, and then attended Kent State University. He married the love of his life, Linda Sue Poholski, on March 25, 1961, in Orrville. Linda survives. He worked as a production planner for Rubbermaid in Wooster for 38 years.

Jim was a member of the Orrville VFW and a past president of the Orrville Booster Club. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball when the kids were younger and was active with Junior Achievement when he worked at Rubbermaid. He also enjoyed trips to Rice Lake in Canada with his family and friends. More recently he loved cooking, visiting his friends at his local spots in Florida, sitting by his pool, taking care of his dogs and cheering for the Cleveland Browns, even if he was the only fan in Florida.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, are three children, Brett Demlow of Smithville, Sean Demlow of Wadsworth and Jill Demlow of Orrville; four grandchildren, Morgan, Bradley, Aaron and Derek Demlow; great-grandson, Jayden Demlow-Flowers; brother, Jerry Demlow of Orrville; and sister, Joan (Mel) Ott of Orrville.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Craig Demlow.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville. Cremation will take place after the service.
