Helen B. Grassbaugh
Helen B. Grassbaugh, 99, of Glenmont passed away Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014, at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, with family by her side.Helen was born Sept. 20, 1914 in Millersburg, and was the daughter of Henry E. and Bertha Barbara (Heck) Huebner. On Sept. 26, 1942 she married Julius Francis Grassbaugh and he preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1992.Helen was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and taking care of her family. She was a member of the SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Glenmont, the Alter and Rosary Society and the Seven Hills Garden Club.She is survived by five children, William (Carol) Grassbaugh of Glenmont, Charles (Helen) Grassbaugh of Wooster, Barbara (James) Spencer of Delaware, Walter (Linda) Grassbaugh of Sidney, and Michael Grassbaugh of Glenmont; a daughter-in-law, Carol Grassbaugh of Miami, Fla.; five grandsons; five granddaughters; one stepgrandson; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Rosemary (Grassbaugh) Strausbaugh of Glenmont.Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; her son, James Grassbaugh who passed away in 2002; three brothers, Vernon, Ralph and Fred Huebner, and a sister, Lola Moreland.Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Glenmont, with Father Stephen L. Krile officiating. Burial was in the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends called from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the SS.
