Elizabeth "Joanne" Romey
Elizabeth "Joanne" Romey, age 87 of Dalton, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, surrounded by her family following a period of declining health.
Elizabeth was born on Jan. 25, 1931, in Orrville, Ohio and was the daughter to Tom and Elizabeth J. (Comstock) Doyle. She married Robert Romey on June 30, 1950. He survives.
Elizabeth and Bob enjoyed camping with family and friends across the country, square dancing, snowmobiling, fast-pitch softball, and loved to spend time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Elizabeth Ann Mumaw of Orrville, Susan (Bob) Miller of Kidron, Mike (Lori) Romey of Hinesville, Georgia and Tom (Sherri) Romey of Orrville; six grandchildren, Cassie (Nathan) Wallpe, Ron (Amy) Miller, Alex Romey, Jennifer Romey, Danielle (Josh) Rehm and Lauren (Scott) Ramer; and five great-grandchildren, Celeste, Logan, Bryson, Julia and Jace.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by both parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18 at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, with Pastor Mick Comstock officiating.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 17 at Auble Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. as well as an hour prior to the service. Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is handling the arrangements.
