George William “Bill” Bowles, 73, of Baltic, died March 16, 2010, at Union Hospital, Dover, following a short illness.George was born April 15, 1936, in Eiford, to the late Clarence and Alberta Bowles. He attended Dundee Church of God.Surviving are his wife, Virginia Gay Bowles, whom he married in 1955; children, Robert (Brenda) Bowles of Millersburg, William (Carla) Bowles of Covington, Va., David (Bass) Bowles of Millersburg, and Cheryll (Jeff) Shireman of Baltic; 13 grandchildren, Angie (Cory) Miller, Robert Bowles II, Zachary Bowles, Kayleigh Bowles, Heather (Rosco) Cole, Sabrina (Foster) Rose, Erica (Jerry) Rusk, Iesha (Brian) Latham, Ronda Bowles, Samantha “Sammy” Bowles, Danielle “Dani” Weaver, Ashley Weaver, and Andrew Weaver; eight stepgrandchildren, Misty (Dale) Obringer, Chareia (Luke) Rolince, Holly Giauque, Jesse Giauque, David Yoder, Roger Legg, Andy (Meghan) Kirby, and Adam Kirby; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bob (Freda) Bowles of Toledo, Sharon (Ralph) Williams of Cooksville, Tenn., Beverly (Bill) Whitt and Jim Bowles, both of Oak Hill, and Randy (Cheryl) Bowles of Mt. Perry.He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Bowles; brothers, Stanley and Dean Bowles; and sister, Betty Yates.Services will be held March 20, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Pastor Erik Cremeans officiating. Burial will be in C.M. Cemetery, Oak Hill. Friends may call March 19, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the George Bowles Memorial Fund, c/o Killbuck Savings Bank.
