Noah Strickler has worked hard in his boy scout troop and has officially achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a prestigious title earned by only about 4% of scouts. This is the highest rank a scout can reach and Strickler accomplished the task at age 14.
The positives he’s experienced have been extensive.
“I have gotten to know a lot of wonderful people through Scouting,” he said. “It gives me special ties to the outdoors. It gives me the opportunity to travel.”
He said a trip to New Jersey, spending the night on the USS New Jersey was a great trip and he was able to go to New York and spend a night on the USS Intrepid, both trips made possible through scouting. He said he look forward to even more time with his fellow scouts next summmer.
“I along with some other scouts and leaders from my troop will be going to Philmont High Adventure scout camp in New Mexico for 12 days,” he said.
Strickler said his Eagle Scout rank is the best thing that’s happened.
“Receiving my Eagle Scout rank will also be a positive thing when filling out a college application and/or job resume,” he said.
As far as his future is concerned, he’s not sure what job he’ll end up with but is sure of one thing.
”I definitely want to do is get my pilot license when I turn 16 yrs old,” he said.
Overall, Strickler’s experience in the Scouts has been positive and he wouldn’t want it to be any different.
“It has made me a better person and taught me how to be a leader,” he said. “Scouting is my home away from home. It has also taught me, if you want to reach your goals, you must work hard.”
