American Legion Wintersville Post 557 has donated $2,500 to support the Tractor Pull and the Carl Butterfield Car Show, events that raise money for cancer victims in Harrison and Jefferson counties and the surrounding area.
Representatives Sharon Butterfield-Johnson and Kiz Dulkoski-Winter accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. Both have been active in fundraising and stressed their commitment to maintaining high standards in their canvassing efforts.
“During our presentation, we did explain to the legion that we help people in surrounding counties, and that some of their members live in Cadiz, Hopedale and Jewett, and do reside in Harrison County,” Dulkoski-Winter said. “Our point of contact to get us into the meeting was Randy Theodore, who has been a long-time resident of Hopedale but now lives in Wintersville. We appreciate Randy setting up and letting us know when the meeting was to be held. The commander of the Wintersville post is Ken Ware.”
“Another officer that I spoke with was a lady named Holly,” Dulkoski-Winter said. “We told Ken and Holly that we were appreciative of their donation. We as an organization really did appreciate the donation. Following the donation, their only reply was that they were very happy to help.”
“They were very willing to hang our posters and flyers to let people know about the Tractor Pull and the Carl Butterfield Car Show for Pulling for the Cure,” Butterfield-Johnson said. “On behalf of both of us and the rest of the committee for Pulling for the Cure, we want to thank the Wintersville Legion Post 557 and Randy Theodore.”
“It has been a blessing this year working with so many people and we thank each and every one for hearing us,” she said. “We especially want to thank each person or organization that has given us the time and also a donation. It will help so many people battling cancer.”
