This 1916 photograph from the collection of the Harrison County Historical Society shows John Ramsey standing in front of the Scott Jewelry Store.

The store sold fine jewelry, clocks and other items and was located on West Market Street, across from what is now the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

The exact site of the former business is uncertain, but it is believed to have been replaced either by the building that later housed Dr. Barker’s office and Walrath Insurance or the property now occupied by a Chinese restaurant.
