Column: Historic look at South Main Street in Cadiz
Photo from Harrison County Historical Society shows familiar storefronts with few changes over the years
This undated photo of South Main Street in Cadiz comes from the Harrison County Historical Society.
At far left is the corner of the building that houses the tax and law offices, owned today by Ed Moore. Next is the former Cadiz Hardware building, now vacant and recognizable by its siding. Beside it is the storefront that once held Leeser’s grocery store and is now a beauty shop. The following building once housed Welfare Finance and today serves as an insurance office.
On the corner stood a Sinclair gas station. The site is now home to the Harrison County Visitors Center in a single-story brick building.
This stretch of South Main has changed little over the years, with only the gas station replaced by new construction.
