Harrison Central boys soccer sees tough stretch
Huskies rebound with big win at annual “Together We Care” game after early losses

The Harrison Central boys soccer team hosted St. Clairsville Sept. 30 in a conference matchup. The Huskies entered the game after three straight losses.
The Red Devils, holding a 10-1 record, scored twice in the first half and once in the second while shutting out the Huskies. Harrison Central goalkeeper Brady McAfee recorded 12 saves.
Harrison Central returned to the field Oct. 2 at Sandy Valley. In a close game, both teams scored before halftime. Tristen Cole tallied the Huskies’ only goal, and McAfee added 10 saves. He was named player of the match.
The Huskies took part in the “Together We Care” event Oct. 4 at Reno Saccoccia Field in Harding Stadium, an annual tradition for the program. Harrison Central defeated Edison 4-1, with goals by seniors Jake Evans and Cooper Thompson, as well as Cole and Justin Scott.
Thompson was named Offensive Player of the Game, and senior Ben Giffin received Defensive Player of the Game honors.
Harrison Central was scheduled to host East Liverpool, 5-5-1, Oct. 7 at Wagner Field for a conference match. The Potters entered with a three-game winning streak. Senior night recognition was also planned, honoring Thompson, Giffin, Evans, McAfee, Brady Moss, Gage Dombroski and Hunter Fulton.
