Memorable weekend for Lucas Thomas

Some weekends are meant to be forgotten. Most are just normal weekends. Some, however, are made to be remembered.

This past weekend is one to be remembered by Harrison Central Senior Lucas Thomas. In addition to winning the 215 lb. weight class and being named Most Valuable Wrestler of the Buckeye 8 Wrestling Tournament, Thomas also wrote his name in the record pages of Harrison Central Wrestling history.

Thomas forced his way into the book with new standards being set in wins by breaking the old record of 147 and setting a new benchmark which now sits at 151. He also now owns the title for most career victories by fall with a total of 109 falls crashing over the old record of 106. The previous wins record was set by Jesse Emery. The prior mark for falls had been held by Tony Carothers. Of course, these marks will continue to grow as Thomas continues on in his final high school season. He will move on next year to

Clarion University to continue his academic and wrestling careers.
