United Way of Tuscarawas County Inc. and the Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured will host an evening fundraiser April 23 at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas. Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $50 and include appetizers and 20 games of bingo. Prizes will include designer purses and bags, fine fragrances and spirits. Extra bingo cards will be available for purchase.
Additional activities will include a bottle pull, a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar.
Participants must be 21 or older.
“All proceeds will benefit the Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured and the patients it serves,” said Pam Dummermuth, executive director.
“We are the only free clinic in the county. Eligibility requires individuals to be actively working and at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Our patients are active, working and contributing neighbors and friends."
The clinic has offered services in Tuscarawas County for 16 years.
“A recent change in a partnership with Beacon Charitable Pharmacy is linking our patients to 100% free medications," said Dummermuth. "This is a game changer for people who are managing their health and diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure."
Sponsors thus far, include the United Way, DoverPhila Federal Credit Union and Neidenthal and Co.
The clinic is funded by the United Way, the Charitable Healthcare Network, direct donations, grants and fundraisers. There is no cost for any of the services offered once a patient qualifies.
“If you have recently lost your health coverage, you owe it to yourself to call us to see if we can help,” said Dummermuth.
Tickets are available at tuscunitedway.org/events.
