Dover City Schools has hired Erin Margletta as the new principal of Dover Middle School. A familiar face in the building, Margletta has served as assistant principal at the middle school for the past three years.
Margletta brings 22 years in education to the role, 18 of them spent in Dover. Over the years, she has taught fourth grade, eighth grade and seventh-grade math across the district, giving her a classroom-level understanding of the students and families she now leads.
“Erin knows our students, our staff and our community,” said Karie McCrate, superintendent of Dover City Schools. “She has earned the trust of this building over many years, and her steady leadership and deep roots in Dover make her the right person to lead the middle school forward.”
Margletta is a Dover graduate, as is her husband, Jeff, and the couple raises their family in the community they serve. Four of their children are Dover graduates, classes of 2016, 2018, 2025 and 2026, and their youngest daughter will be a junior at Dover High School this fall.
“It is my joy and privilege to continue to serve the staff, students and families of Dover Middle School in this new role,” Margletta said.
Dover City Schools welcomes Margletta to her new position and looks forward to the leadership and continuity she brings to the middle school community.
