As the need for food and assistance continues to rise in Lake Township, the Uniontown Lions Club is stepping in to support two organizations working on the front lines.

On Nov. 11, the Lions Club presented a $1,000 check to Melody McGaha of Lake Township FISH, a nonprofit that provides food, clothing and emergency help to local families. Club members then visited Love Our Community, where they presented another $1,000 donation to Kelli Viscounte and Brianna Gugov.

Lions members said both organizations have seen growing demand throughout the year, especially heading into the holiday season.

Are you looking to make a charitable donation now or during the holidays? The club noted that Lake Township FISH and Love Our Community remain vital resources for residents facing food insecurity and financial hardship. “The need in our community is overwhelming,” the Lions said.
