The Northeast Senate League has opened a search for its founding commissioner for the newly formed high school athletic conference serving student-athletes across Carroll, Stark and Tuscarawas counties.

As the league’s primary executive officer, the commissioner will oversee league operations and help shape the future of local high school sports. The league said it is seeking a principled leader to serve as a link between member school districts, the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the broader interscholastic athletic community.

“We are looking for a proactive professional who can balance the complexities of governance and scheduling with a passion for the student-athlete experience,” the Northeast Senate League superintendents said. “Our goal is to find a leader who ensures a fair, exciting and highly competitive environment for every school district in our conference.”

Duties include managing league budgets and procuring championship awards, facilitating monthly meetings with athletic directors and quarterly meetings with district superintendents, and overseeing league communications. The commissioner also will promote the league on social media and manage scheduling platforms such as DragonFly and FinalForms.

The league is seeking candidates with at least five years of experience in athletic administration, coaching or educational leadership, along with familiarity with OHSAA bylaws and Title IX compliance. Additional qualifications include experience with tournament management and officials assigning, proficiency with digital scheduling platforms, and the ability to partner with businesses in the league’s communities to raise funds to offset league operating costs.

The position is part-time/contract, with competitive wages based on experience.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to Dave Davis, superintendent of Carrollton Exempted Village Schools, by March 6. Applications may be emailed to dave.davis@carrolltonschools.org or mailed to Carrollton Exempted Village School District, 205 Scio Road, Carrollton, OH 44615, Attn: Dave Davis.
