FISH golf classic to support Lake Township families in need

Annual fundraiser offers sponsorships, golf and community impact opportunities

Registration is open for the fourth annual Lake Township FISH Golf Classic, set for Friday, May 15, at Sable Creek Golf Course, 5942 Edison St. NE, Hartville.

Sponsorship of the outing provides funding to Lake Township FISH, which operates a free-choice food pantry at 13155 Market Ave. N, Hartville. FISH also provides emergency financial assistance to residents facing eviction or utility shutoffs. For every $1 donated, FISH can provide three meals to people in need. In addition, FISH operates the Agape Bread Ministry, distributing bakery products to more than 100 churches, organizations and individuals.

Several sponsorship opportunities are available. A putting contest sponsor level is $2,000 and provides 6,000 meals, along with exclusive contest sponsorship, one foursome, four mulligans, one hole sign and a gift bag item. A corporate sponsor level is $1,100, providing 3,300 meals and including one foursome, four mulligans, one hole sign and one gift bag item. A mission sponsor level is $550, providing 1,650 meals and including one foursome, four mulligans and one hole sign. A hole sponsor level is $225, providing 675 meals and one hole sign. Individual golfers can participate for $110, which provides 330 meals and includes one mulligan, a sandwich at the turn, beverages and lunch following the event.

The outing supports FISH’s efforts to serve the Lake Township community while offering participants a day at Sable Creek Golf Course. Corporate sponsors can entertain clients or provide an outing for employees. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will follow the round during an awards presentation, with food provided by the Swenson’s food truck.

FISH recently filled its administrative assistant position with Jesica Marino. She said the organization aligns with her goal of helping others and brings experience in community outreach, volunteer management and event planning.

Lake Primary School in Uniontown recently held its annual 100th Day Food Drive, collecting 1,031 pounds of food, equal to 859 meals. Additionally, local churches and organizations contributed through the Souper Bowl of Caring, collecting $50 and 2,189 pounds of food for the pantry.
