New Philadelphia High School to present 'Alice by Heart'
Follow the cast down the hole as they retell the tale of 'Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland' by heart
New Philadelphia High School will present “Alice by Heart” March 19-21 in Welty Auditorium.
Follow the cast down the hole as they retell the tale of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by heart.
Alice Spencer and her friend Alfred are sheltering with other kids in the tunnels of a London Underground tube station during the London Blitz. They find solace in retelling the story of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” As Alice tries to remember the story, bits and pieces of her reality slip into her narrative. Alice faces grief, loss, war and coming of age within the absurdity and impossibility of her own version of Wonderland.
The show features Olivia Alexander as Alice; Teagan Zimmerman as Alfred/White Rabbit/March Hare; Heather Demuth as Tabatha/Cheshire Cat; Annalise Wherley as Red Cross Nurse/The Queen of Hearts; Colton Walker as Dr. Butridge/Jabberwock/King of Hearts; Maddox McClelland as Harold Pudding/Mad Hatter; Kasen Jones as Angus/Caterpillar 1; Scarling Hershberger-Budavich as Dodgy/Duchess; Evy Bowers as Clarissa/Queen of Diamonds/Mock Mock Mock Turtle; Reece Shuman as Nigel/Dormouse; Helen Morris as Caterpillar 2/Lobster/Knave of Hearts/Mock Mock Mock Mock Turtle; Cheyenne Millard as Knave of Spades/Mock Mock Turtle; and Braylon Corbin as Mock Turtle/Knave of Clubs.
The show is directed by Sarah Spies, with musical direction by Kristi Prucha and choreography by Shannon Mitchell.
Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at our.show/AliceNPHS.
The school is located at 315 Fourth St. NW, New Philadelphia.
