Rev. Gordon Warner updates Carrollton Rotary on community aid efforts
Speaker highlights Salvation Army’s holiday bell-ringing campaign and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry partnership.
The Carrollton Rotary Club held its weekly meeting at noon Oct. 22, in the Villa Restaurant and welcomed Rev. Gordon Warner as guest speaker.
Warner addressed the club regarding his role as Carroll County unit director and the responsibilities he has in making decisions to disburse aid to needy individuals and families. He also discussed the upcoming Salvation Army bell-ringing campaign between Thanksgiving and Christmas and emphasized the importance of Rotary Club members supporting the program by volunteering as bell ringers during the season.
He further spoke about another area of collaboration with the Carrollton Rotary Club, noting that he serves as the representative from the Carroll County Ministerial Association responsible for oversight of the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.
The Carrollton Rotary Club has for several years provided volunteers to assist with the monthly food distribution, typically held the fourth Monday evening. He noted that due to the timing of Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, the distributions will take place on the third rather than the fourth Monday in November and December.
